SNC's Yurts- Our yurts have been specifically designed for winter
use. All of the yurts rest on
raised platforms with wooden floors. The walls, ceiling, and floors are
insulated and airtight woodstoves with glass fronts have been installed
to ensure a warm and comfortable shelter. Mattresses and pillows are
provided for your sleeping comfort. The yurts come equipped
with propane cookstoves and lanterns(gas provided), stainless steel pots
and pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, knives, spices, Melitta filter
cones and filters, toilet paper, paper towels, matches, and a selection
of games. Water is by snow melt in a large stainless steel pot on the
woodstove.There is an outhouse and the toilet seat hangs inside near
the woodstove to keep it warm. Of course, there is plenty of dry, split
firewood stacked for your use. The yurts are warm and cozy shelters for
winter camping in the backcountry. You may open the door if it gets too
hot for comfort.
Cumbres Pass Yurts- All four of the yurts in
this system are 16' in diameter and accomodate up to six persons. There
are two bunk beds, each with two mattresses. Two additional mattresses
may be placed on the floor for full occupancy.
Taos Ski Valley-
The yurt at Bull of the Woods Meadow is 24' in
diameter and accomodates up to 10 persons. This luxury yurt has been custom designed to be both roomy and
warm. This yurt has two futon couches/bunks which fold out for two
double beds on the bottom and a full futon on top. Four additional
mattresses may be placed on the floor for full occupancy. The game
of Twister may be played on the large rug in the center of the
room for limber groups. |
